Week 9 Color Commentary

Holy balls, the season is flying by. With just four weeks left, every game is critical. Dufresne is our only 7 loss team, but as history shows even he has a chance to make the playoffs in this league.

Week 9 saw a few great performances, but with 7 teams scoring 80 or less a lot of us are in for some tough weeks ahead. Also, half the league (Jen, Steph, Tracy, Mauger, OT, Moose and myself) has 4+ players listed at Questionable or worse. Our top four teams in the standings are counted in that bunch, so it is truly still anyone's game.

New awards this week (with a photo-assist from Graham who, as you may know, is really good at internet.) You got a sassy picture for the blog? Send it to me! You have a close-up of a nursing baby? Send it to Moose - that's filthy!

The Popped Collar Award for Being the Envy of One's Peers

I have to give an honorable mention to OT here for 2nd place in points this week. He may be the 7-6 team that wins it all this year. However, Dagan takes down the prize for the second time this season with a modest 126. With Arian Foster, Thomas Jones and Ray Rice, his may be the only team in the league with 3 starting backs that don't split a lot of carries. I'm glad I've already played him this season!

The Laimbeer Award for Calling Out One's Opponent and Slaying Them Most Fiercely

That's just a great shot of Bill. He's actually pointing at Isiah Thomas who is sexually harassing a 19-year-old girl off camera. Inside, he's dreaming that there will one day be a second NBA created for women who like other women: "...And I will coach the Shock to one... NO, TWO championships!"

I bestow this much-desired award upon Jen Lin for soundly defeating Tracy in the battle of 6-2 teams 117-85. Good time for a statement game for Jen. Although with Rivers being the all-time best quarterback in league history through nine weeks, I don't think Tracy is feeling too badly for leaving Brees behind this year. I see these two teams coming together again in the playoffs along with a much closer final score.

The Mmmmblarrrghagh Award for a Disgusting Performance

(Tell me that's NOT Asian Brent Duncan in the background! Can't you just see that guy doing the Cappy-Shuffle to the Sanford & Son theme?)

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Steph went from #1 in points last week to getting beat by Mauger by 26. The only thing worse than her 45-point performance is the fact that Dave never set his line-up and beat her with just six active players!

... Oh, but Samu scored even less than Steph so this award goes to him! Happy Birthday, Sam!
