Some of the interesting happenings from the final week:
- As predicted, Cappy slid in at the last second to capture the 8th seed from Foam John, thus unseating our reigning champ.
- Both Cappy and OT enter the playoffs with 6-7 records. Even losers can win in this league and, as history shows, can even take down the championship.
- Once mighty teams, the Slaters and Mundays slid down to the 4th and 5th seeds after dominating 1st place the majority of the year.
- The playoff bracket pits the two hottest teams in the league (Graham and Dagan) at opposite ends, which could lead to a predictable finale.
- Props to Graham for nabbing the top seed in the eleventh hour.
In lieu of awards, let's preview the teams that will be in the Final Four at the end of this week's slate of games...
GAME OF THE WEEK:
#6 Fear the Hoodie vs #3 Panda Poodles
No surprise with my prediction here to the literally 1 or 2 people that read the blog, Dagan will score the upset. The Poodles are just too banged up to put up a fight, although this one ends up fairly close: Hoodie 116 - Poodles 102.
WILL THE COMMISH GO DOWN?:
#7 Singapore Sling vs #2 Moose is Loose!
No need to look at the ESPN predictions on this one, just take a look at the rosters: Peyton vs. Eli, LeSean McCoy vs. Mendenhall, Forte vs. Jonathan Stewart, etc. Moose takes this one easy: Moose 137 - Sling 88.
CAN THE #1 BE BEATEN?
#8 R-Squad Sacapuntas vs #1 Captain Hindsight
Cappy's team is looking surprisingly decent. However, Graham will cruise easily with Vick and A.P. combining for minimum 50 points this week. Final score: Hindsight 141 - Puntas 108.
WHO WILL SALVAGE THEIR SEASON:
#5 AC Slaters vs #4 Case of the Mundays
Here we have two teams that peaked long, long ago. ESPN predicts 30 points from Hillis, but Jen can't keep all her eggs in one basket forever. Slaters finally get their act together and start the right lineup and win a pathetic one: Slaters 92 - Mundays 81.
